Justin Curry - Minister to Families
Email Justin

Justin Curry, along with his wife Candace joined KMBC as the Minister to Families in January of 2011.  His passion and driving force in ministering to our church is to see children and students changed by the love and mercy of God through the message of the grace and forgiveness that was made available through His son Jesus Christ.  While growing up in Seagrove, NC God used the student ministry Justin was a part of to lead him toward vocational student ministry.  While following in obedience God opened doors to receive an education in Religious Studies with a special emphasis on youth ministry at Liberty University.  God then allowed Justin to pursue a deeper education into the study and teaching of God's word as he received his Master of Divinity at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Justin is excited for the opportunity to teach, organize, and advise the various programs and events that make up our family ministries at KMBC, and strives to do so to honor and glorify God the Father.

Justin and Candace married in July of 2007.  He considers her an asset to his ministry.  They are expecting their first child in November 2011.

Justin attempts to live his life based on Romans 12:1-2, "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will."   and has made that the vision for our students as well.

Pamela Smith - Minister of Music
Email Pamela
Pamela and Mark joined Kerr on Feb. 15, 1981. Pamela immediately began serving as Pianist and choir member. On April 11, 1992 she was elected to fill the position of Music Director and held this position until May 8, 1994. On May 9, 1999, Pamela was elected to serve as Interim Music Director and was elected Music Minister on Sept. 19, 1999. Pamela and Mark have two children, Jennifer and Jeremy and daughter-in-law Jessica. All are active members of Kerr and very supportive of her ministry through music.

Pamela’s hope is that everyone will honor, praise and glorify God as we worship through music each week.
“I will sing praise to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.” Psalm 104:33

Kelly Barrow - Secretary
Email Kelly

Kelly Barrow has been with Kerr Memorial Baptist Church as the administrative church secretary since August 2008. Kelly is the friendly front desk receptionist, aiding the pastoral and ministry staff, but her leading role is as the central communication center. She circulates Kerr Memorial publications such as the Kerr Messenger (newsletter), Prayer Concerns Lists, Wednesday Night Announcements, Sunday Announcements, and the Sunday Bulletin. Kelly seeks to use her personal gifts and technical skills for the benefit of the church through effectiveness and efficiency.

Kerri Fraley - Financial Clerk

Kerri Fraley has been with Kerr Memorial Baptist Church since May of 2005 as Financial Clerk.  Kerri is in the church office on Mondays maintaining the church finances.  Kerri and her husband Todd live in Oakboro, NC and have three children, Corey, Taylor and Camden.

Susan Dalton - Organist

In November of 1974, after graduating from Western Carolina and moving to Concord, Susan and Strick Dalton joined Kerr Memorial Baptist Church. At that time Kerr needed a pianist and asked Susan to fill that position.  She played piano for 6 years. In 1980 Susan was asked to move to the organ when that position became vacated.

Susan was born and raised in Kings Mountain, N.C. where she was active at First Baptist Church. While attending WCU, where she majored in mathematics, she met and married Strick Dalton. She taught math and computer programming, and was a Technology Facilitor at Central Cabarrus High school until she recently retired.

Susan and Strick have two grown children, Erin and Erik. Erin is married to Rusty Plummer and they have one son, Jeron. The Plummers are active members of Kerr Memorial. Erik is married to Abbie Brady and they live in New York City where they are involved in Redeemer Presbyterian church.

Susan realizes that her talent for playing the organ was given to her through the grace of God. She feels that church music is not a show of a musician's ability but is a vehicle to transport a sacred message to the listener's heart.

Barbara Crisp - Pianist

Barbara and Ray Crisp joined Kerr Memorial Baptist Church in June 1998, after Ray had a job transfer from Richmond, Virginia. Barbara filled in for the church pianist and organist at Kerr Memorial as needed.  In March, 2001, Barbara was asked to be the church pianist when there was a vacancy.

Barbara was born and raised in Pennsylvania.  She has been active in church music and playing the piano and organ for church services since she was a teenager.  She also can play the keyboard, accordion and hand bells.  Before moving to North Carolina, Barbara was the Interim Music Director, Organist and Pianist at Salem Baptist Church in Crozier, Virginia.

Barbara is a Registered Nurse employed by Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast as a Case Manager.  She has a degree in HealthCare Management and serves as the Parish Nurse for Kerr Memorial Baptist Church.  While living in Virginia, she became a Certified Biblical Counselor through Christian Counselors Training Center in Richmond.  Her focus on counseling was with youth, family crisis and also discipleship training.

Barbara and Ray have one married daughter, Christina.

Barbara believes in using her talent for the glory of God. Barbara serves her community with her talent by playing for Hospice & Palliative Care Memorial Services twice a year and also serves as a Sower of Hope for Hospice.
